Here are the results of an ESPN online poll today, asking "what is on your mind right now as far as sports are concerned: baseball, football, or something else". The state by state map speaks more than a thousand words:
Well, an unscientific ESPN poll might not be the strongest evidence, but I certainly hope so. I mean really, how many championships does one team have to win before the people in this town start paying attention?
Of course, people might just be boycotting the Vikings out of spite. I know I am tempted to do so.
As a matter of fact, the last 3 seasons (ignore the current), the Twins and the Vikings has exactly a first, a second and a third place finish in their respective divisions and an early bow in the first game/series in the playoffs/post season. The difference is that the Vikings' success is more recent than the Twins'.
I think that Chilly gets way much more grief than Gardy with identical results the last 3 seasons.
This blog contains eclectic musings about baseball, mainly centering on the Minnesota Twins and are mainly numbers-driven. I anticipate a few Vikings tidbits here and there, a bunch of historical statistical analysis, some emphasis on minor leagues and prediction of prospect development and production in the majors... just a place to place some thoughts.
I am a Twin Cities expat and SABR member, living on the right coast and have good access to both Twins' AAA and AA teams, albeit not necessarily their home fields.
Feel free to commend in the blog or email me at thetenthinningstretch at gmail.com

Let's see it again in December.

I'd like to see the question asked tomorrow when the Twins blow this game in LA and Favre announces his comeback with the Vikings...
Well...I agree for the "Juanie"
