This is the seventh version of the list of the best performing players in the Twins' minor league system year to date. Up to the all star break. The rookie leagues are in full swing, so players will appear here, including some of the recent draftees. Here are some news: the Twins late this week have signed 2009 MLB Draft picks Eddie Ahorrio (45th round) and Richard Calcano (47th round), both High School RHP from Puerto Pico.

it appears that LH starters are an area of weakness.

Absolutely! There are only 9 in the whole organization, from the Twins to the DSL Twins (and this includes Duensing, Perkins and Liriano). So 6 in 8 minor league teams are left. Danny Osterbrock (A) and Ryan Mullins (AA) are improving and Mike Tarsi was excellent in Beloit but took a step back when promoted to Ft. Myers.

This is a reason that in my pre-draft post, I suggested that LHSP should be a major focus of the draft (They drafted 7 LHP and signed 3 so far)
