At one point it seemed that Hughes would get to the bigs before Valencia. Now that Valencia is in AAA perhaps he will see some MLB time in September.
Any idea if he is a decent fielder?
Interesting to see Macri, with a career MLB line of .324/.361/.441 hitting .225/.290/.398 in Rochester. Too bad.
Go Alexi! Hope he has a stellar remainder of the season.
Marv,
Valecia is about as good as Crede at third base.
Macri is like Buscher/Rabe/Garrett Jones: a career AAA/AAAA player. I think that this is his last season with the Twins.
Hughes has had nagging injuries this season and he is still young (he is 24, like Valencia, a year younger than Tolleson) so he will probably contribute in the future.
I hope that Alexi gets some needed encouragement by the field staff and Gardy; I think that a lot of his mental mistakes was because he was pressing and a lot of this pressure has to do with publicly thrown under the bus by the manager...
Can You Tell Me How Brian Dozier Is Doing? He Moved Up From GCL Twins.
Dozier is hitting .318/.483/.364 in 29 PA at Elizabethton after he hit .286/.375 /.286 in 16 PA with the GCL team
