GO TWINS!
Are the Twins drafting Cody Martin to get on the good side of his brother, Ethan Martin, to maybe take him next year?
After say the top 15-18 rounds, I really like that the Twins do draft several "local" players. I just think that is a good thing. Odds of any player from those rounds making it aren't great, so why not get the best local types and hope.
Nice to see the Metro player/year get drafted, albeit later. And Senne was actually drafted HIGHER by the Twins the first time around, in the 13th round in 2006.
Bourgeois - another Canadian... isn't that where they drafted Tosoni from?
Nice catch Seth. Tosoni WAS drafted from Chipola in the 36th round, 2005.
I've been quite surprised by his HR total this year. I like his ability. I hope they do mine a couple diamonds in the rough out of this bunch.
Very stoked on the pitching and McCallum selections early.
Hey guys,
that was fun :)
The Twins drafted Carlos Gutierrez' baby brother today as well... It would be great if Ethan Martin signs with the Twins. I suspect that most of the HS kids drafted today will go to college. I think that only one player that was drafted that late last season signed.
I am intrigued by the Tyler Herr kid. He is a monster (6'8"). As a matter of fact the Twins drafted a lot of tall hard throwing pitchers in this draft; a change in their philosophy?
Deron Johnson in the draft preview said they needed harder throwing pitchers and better hitting in the middle infield.
Wasn't sure they could get all that done in one draft, but looks like they tried.
Thanks for posting all of these thru the draft!
I hope they make a run at a number of these later ones, too.
No problem, it was fun. Yeah, I do hope that the sign some of these kids in the late rounds. We already know that Decker will not sign. That pick was as bad as the one by the Yankees taking Pat White from WVU who got drafted by the Dolphins and will be their wild cat QB
